Gui Caribe delivered a major victory for Brazil at the short-course swimming championship Jose Finkel Trophy by conquering the 50m freestyle with a time of 20.54 seconds. This result marks a small but significant improvement from his previous personal best of 20.57 seconds, placing Gui Caribe 13th on the all-time list of the fastest short-course swimmers. This is a respectable achievement, although it has not yet reached the national record held by Cesar Cielo with 20.51 seconds. This progress reflects the refinement of technique in high-elbow catch, efficient underwater dolphin kick, and overall swimming efficiency in the short pool.
